Notes: In place of all individual spices, 3 teaspoons ADAMS PUMPKIN PIE SPICE BLEND can be used.
1/4 tsp ADAMS GROUND ALLSPICE
1 9 INCH Unbaked deep dish pie shell
1 Can (15 oz) Pumpkin (do not substitute Pumpkin Pie Mix)
2 large Eggs, beaten
3/4 cup Sugar
1/2 tsp Salt
1 1/2 tsp ADAMS GROUND CINNAMON
1/4 tsp ADAMS GROUND GINGER
1 can (12 oz) Evaporated or Extra Rich Milk
1/2 tsp "ADAMS BEST" VANILLA
3/4 tsp ADAMS GROUND NUTMEG
Preheat oven to 425 degrees with the rack in the center position.
In a large mixing bowl combine sugar, salt, eggs, milk and pumpkin. Blend well. Add cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, and Adams Best Vanilla. Blend well.
Pour into the unbaked pie shell. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and continue baking for 40 to 50 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center of the pie comes out clean. Allow pie to cool for at least 2 hours prior to serving.
Top with whipping cream if desired.
