Pound Cake - Five Flavor Cake

Notes: Another Betty Adams Recipe - also know as the "ADAMS 75th Anniversary Poundcake"

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp ADAMS BEST
  • 1 tsp ADAMS JAMAICAN RUM FLAVOR
  • 1 tsp ADAMS BUTTER FLAVOR
  • 1 tsp ADAMS COCNUT FLAVOR
  • 1 tsp ADAMS LEMON EXTRACT
  • 3 sticks butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Blend flour, salt, baking powder. Alternately add milk and flour mixture to creamed ingredients. Stir in all ADAMS FLAVORS and EXTRACTS (Vanilla, Butter, Coconut, Lemon, and Rum). Pour in greased 10 inch bundt or tube pan. Bake for 1 1/2 hours or until toothpick inserted comes clean.

To make the optional Five Flavor Glaze: In saucepan, combine 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup water and 1/2 teaspoon of each of the 5 extracts. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Cover cake with glaze while still warm.
