Adams Orange Pound Cake

Orange Pound

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ADAMS RED COLOR
  • 1 tsp ADAMS YELLOW COLOR
  • 1 tsp ADAMS BUTTER FLAVOR
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 oz Adams Pure Orange Extract
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 Tbl vinegar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups flour, sifted
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Mix well. Add Adams Pure Orange Extract, Imitation Butter Flavor, Red Color and Yellow Color and salt to mixture. Add sifted flour and buttermilk alternately. Mix soda and vinegar in small bowl and add to mixture. Blend well. Pour into greased and floured 10 inch cake pan. Bake for about 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean.
