Adams Lemon Pecan Cake

Notes: Original Adams recipe put in order books dated back to 1930's

» Batter

  • 1 lb butter
  • 1 lb (4cups) flour
  • 1 lb brown sugar
  • 1 lb pecans (cut up)
  • 6 eggs (beat separate)
  • 1/2 cup sweet milk
  • 1 1/2 oz ADAMS LEMON FLAVOR
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
Cream butter and sugar; add egg yolks. Add dry ingredients alternately with liquids. Add Lemon Flavor; then fold in egg whites. Cook at 300 degrees in stem pan about one hour and forty minutes. Do not cook too dry.
