Texas Style Chili (VIDEO)

Notes: Makes a great Texas Style chili! It can also be used on top of hot dogs or to make a frito chili pie!

  • 2 lbs Meat (ground beef, chili meat, cubed chuck)
  • 4 Tbl Flour/Masa (optional)
  • 1-1/2 tsp Salt (optional)
  • 1/2 cup Adams Chili Powder
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1/2 - 1 teaspoon Adams Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp Adams Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Adams Ground Cumin
  • 1 tsp Adams Oregano
  • 2 tsp Adam Paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon Adams Diced Onion
  • 1/4 cup water (optional)
Brown meat in large pot. Drain grease off. Stir in all spices except salt and cayenne pepper - these are optional to taste. (1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper will make a mild chili and 1 teaspoon will make a hot chili.) Also add 8 ounces of tomato sauce and 2 cups water. Stir well. Bring to a boil, then reduce, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes. For a thicker chili, mix 1/4 cup water and 4 tablespoons flour or masa together to make a paste. Add to chili, mix well and continue to simmer for an additional 15 minutes. Beans can also be added, if desired. chili
