German Chocolate Pie Print Version
Notes: 3/4 Cup sugar 1/2 Cup Flour 1/4 tsp. Salt 2 Cups Milk 1 Bar German's Sweet Chocolate (4 oz.) 3 Egg Yolks 2 Tbl. Margarine 1 tsp. Adams Best Vanilla 1/2 tsp. Adams Butter Flavoring 1 Cup Coconut (Angel Flake) 1/2 Cup Chopped Pecans (coarse) Combine sugar,flour,salt and 1/2 cup cold mild. Mix well. Scald remaining milk and add chocolate. Stir until chocolate is melted. Add scalded mild and chocolate to first mixture and cook until thickened. Separate egg yolks slightly and add slowly to hot mixture, stirring constantly. Continue to cook over low heat about 2 or 3 minutes. Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients. Cool and pour into a baked 9" pie shell.Chill and top with whipped cream.
