Adams Best Vanilla
This is how we started! Our Adams Best Vanilla doesn't bake or freeze out and enhances a variety of desserts, puddings, cakes, custards, creams, ice cream, and cookies. Don't say Vanilla, Say Adams Best. Enjoy!

- 1 cup Sugar
- 1/2 cup Shortening
- 1 Egg, unbeaten
- 1/2 tsp "ADAMS BEST" VANILLA
- 1 tsp ADAMS ANISE EXTRACT
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 2 Tbl Milk
- 1/2 tsp Soda
Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg and flavoring and mix well. Sift together flour, soda and salt and mix with above. Then stir in milk.
Dip hands in flour and form dough into small balls, and place on greased baking sheet 2 inches apart. Flatten with a flat bottom glass dipped in sugar as each cookie is pressed. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.
