Adams Best Vanilla
This is how we started! Our Adams Best Vanilla doesn't bake or freeze out and enhances a variety of desserts, puddings, cakes, custards, creams, ice cream, and cookies. Don't say Vanilla, Say Adams Best. Enjoy!

| Coconut Oatmeal Cookies |

- 1 cup Butter Flavored Shortening
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar, firmly packed
- 2 tsp. Adams Cinnamon Sugar made with "Adams Best" Vanilla
- 3 Eggs, beaten
- 3/4 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1-1/2 cups All Purpose Flour (do not use self-rising flour)
- 7 oz Sweetened Coconut Flakes
- 1/2 cup Pecans, chopped
- 2 cups Old Fashioned Oats
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease (not oil) cookie sheets. Combine first 3 ingredients. Mix well. Add eggs. Beat until this mix is fluffy. Add next 2 ingredients. Mix well. Add flour and mix until all flour is blended in. Add the remaining ingredients one at a time. Blend well. Drop spoonfulls of dough on to cookie sheet. Bake for 11-13 minutes on center rack. Remove from cookie sheet when cool. Will keep in freezer for a month if stored in tighly sealed container.
