Cake Batter

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups butter, room temperature
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs room temperature
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp ADAMS BEST VANILLA
  • 1 tsp ADAMS BUTTER FLAVOR
  • 1 tsp ADAMS LEMON EXTRACT
  • 1 tsp ADAMS JAMAICAN RUM FLAVOR
  • 1 tsp ADAMS COCONUT EXTRACT
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray a bundt or tube pan with nonstick cooking spray and then coat the inside thoroughly with flour. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, salt and baking powder.  Stir with a whisk and set aside. Cream butter and sugar together for 5 minutes. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating between each addition. Add the flour mixture and buttermilk, alternating between the two, beginning and ending with the flour and mixing between each addition. Add the vanilla, butter flavor, coconut extract, lemon extract and rum flavor.  Mix just until combined. Pour into pan and bake for 1 1/2 hours or until toothpick inserted comes clean. Remove the cake from the oven and allow to cool for 25 minutes. While cake is cooling, prepare the glaze. Invert cake onto a serving platter and brush glaze over cake while it is still warm.  Allow to cool completely before serving.

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon ADAMS BEST VANILLA
  • 1/2 teaspoon ADAMS BUTTER FLAVOR
  • 1/2 teaspoon ADAMS COCONUT EXTRACT
  • 1/2 teaspoon ADAMS LEMON EXTRACT
  • 1/2 teaspoon ADAMS JAMAICAN RUM FLAVOR
Directions:
While the cake is cooling, prepare the glaze.  Combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Invert cake onto a serving platter and brush glaze over the cake while it is still warm.
